Everybody deserves the right to clean air. At Jaguar Land Rover we are committed to driving down emissions. From our state-of-the-art retailer facilities to our innovative new propulsion technologies for our future vehicles, we are creating a better world today.
At Jaguar Land Rover we are transforming today, for tomorrow, creating a better and cleaner future for all our stakeholders. Our vision is a world of sustainable, smart mobility for all. A key part of this vision is achieving our zero emissions goal throughout our company.
“Our journey to destination Zero. A world of Zero emissions, Zero accidents and Zero Congestion. Our Ambition is to make societies safer and healthier and our environments cleaner. Through our relentless Innovation, we adapt our products and services to the rapidly changing world around us.” - Prof Sir Ralf D Speth KBE FREng.
In the last 10 years, we have halved the CO2 emitted per car across our vehicle range. We are closing the loop on our use of materials, ensuring that we minimise waste and get the most use, re-use and value out of the precious resources that help us to build every Jaguar and Land Rover product.
Our state-of-the-art diesel and petrol Ingenium engines deliver world-class efficiency, performance and significantly reduced emissions. These engines will assist and sit alongside our electrification technologies in our company wide push for zero emissions.
Some other innovative ways in which Jaguar Land Rover is pursuing a future with zero emissions are outlined below:
‘Living Walls’
Ensuring working environments are clean and pleasant for our employees is vital. This starts with maintaining a healthy indoor climate and ensuring the highest air quality for our customers and employees.
The ‘Living wall’s’ at our Solihull site and in our statement retailer in Munich are prime examples of this this push for greater air quality. The state-of-the-art facility in Munich has been awarded BREEAM sustainability certification based on how it was constructed. Inside, visitors will be greeted by Europe's largest living wall bursting with hundreds of healthy growing plant life.

‘Reducing Emissions Through Materials’
Jaguar Land Rover is actively seeking to neutralise pathogens in its latest generation Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, available across the range including the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE and Range Rover Sport. The current Four-zone Climate Control and Cabin Air Ionisation system works by using high voltage to create trillions of nano-sized negatively charged particles (ions) coated in water molecules. These ions deactivate pathogens, forming larger particles which are removed from the air as they are brought back into the filter. As well as combatting pathogens, the ions also act upon odour molecules and allergens in a similar way.

We have also introduced more environmentally responsible materials into our vehicles. In the new Range Rover Evoque, we now offer seating made from plant-based textiles such as eucalyptus extract. This innovative sustainably-sourced textile reduces our impact on natural resources by using less water and releasing fewer emissions into our atmosphere during production. Using Eucalyptus in conjunction with Polyurethane (PU) represents our first attempt to recycle solvents used within the manufacturing process.
These Innovative new solutions represent just a few of the ways we, at Jaguar Land Rover are committed to achieving our zero emissions future.
