We recently caught up with Kim Challis, Halewood, who is part of the TIC team, ‘Click & Collect’, made up of Kim, Dave Ellison, Andy Stockton, Chris Wallace and Kev Kelly.
Last year Kim and Dave took part in TIC and managed to get through to the Regional Convention which they really enjoyed. They also felt a real sense of achievement as they learnt new skills and met new people from across the business.
This year their TIC project is focusing on making the Red Tag process more visual, accessible and relevant. The Red Tag process is a way for everyone across the plant to share equipment they no longer need. The process wasn’t working very well, as everything was done on paper and colleagues had to travel across the plant for equipment without really knowing what was there. Because of this the process was rarely used.
The Click and Collect team decided to make this process digital, creating a google document which associates across the plant can use to upload pics of non-required items from their areas. Everyone can then view the document 'click' on a desired item and 'collect'.
The team were inspired by the Town Hall, where our Charge initiative was discussed and with this project already saving £20,000 the team are well on the way to making fantastic savings across the plant. That’s where they need your help though, they have managed to introduce the project in Body but they are now ready to launch across the plant.
