We just are a few weeks away from unveiling the ‘Fantastic Five’ Halewood circles who are being fast-tracked to TIC UK Recognition Activities, this autumn.
As with the local TIC event at Halewood, you will notice that we are doing things a bit differently this year and there is a good reason for that.
Normally the next stage of the TIC evaluation would be the UK Regional Convention, which was due to take place in the Midlands next month. However, based on the current COVID-19 restrictions that remain within JLR as a business, the UK Regional Convention will no longer go ahead, as it would have meant taking a significantly reduced number of circles to the event, which didn’t feel true to TIC.
Instead, the top 32 Circles from the recent Local Circle Evaluations will be selected to progress directly to the TIC UK Recognition Activities, which is a significant increase on the 8 UK circles that were originally planned to go through to the final stage of the 2021 TIC cycle.
These activities will consist in two parts, firstly an exciting JLR product experience day at Eastnor, where employees will have an opportunity to engage with senior management from across the business with team building events, an off-road driving experience and lunch.
Following the adrenaline of the off-roading session, the next stage for each circle will be to present their TIC theme to a Member of the Board of Directors.
Trevor Leeks, Halewood Operations Director and Chairperson for the JLR TIC Promotion Committee, said: “We know that this is a slight detour from the usual TIC roadmap, but the fact is we have more Halewood teams than ever before going directly through to the final stage, which is really exciting.
“Despite of all the challenges we have faced these last 18 months, the quality of this year’s Halewood circles has been off the scale and I’m so proud of everyone for taking part and making it such a success. We are on the cusp of announcing who are Fantastic Five are, who will be flying the flag for Halewood this autumn - so watch this space!”
