Last Thursday we finally welcomed back new apprentices to Halewood, after being joined by some of the fresh faces starting with us in September!
This is only the second time we have held a starter event on site since the pandemic began, so it was fantastic to give our latest recruits a whistle-stop tour of the factory, ahead of their official enrolment, next month.
They were also greeted by Halewood Operations Director, Trevor Leeks, before being taken to meet with some of the new teams they will be working with.
Kate Love, HR Business Partner, who organised the event said: “This was a real milestone for the apprentices as they were due to join us last September, but this was then put on hold for 12 months because of the pandemic.
“Before now, all the interaction they have had with us has been done online so they were really eager to get inside our factory and get a taste of what life is like at Halewood!”
Dan Hunter, 17, who is enrolled on the September intake, said: “We’ve all been waiting a long time for this so it was really useful to do the tour as it’s helped me to visualise what it will be like to work here- I can’t wait now!”
