On Monday, two devastating earthquakes struck Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria leading to the reported loss of over 21,000 lives and causing injury to thousands more.
With plummeting temperatures and rescue teams working day and night, the number of people affected is growing by the hour with reports of over 23 million people impacted.
The earthquakes have ravaged the region causing extensive damage to hundreds of homes, hospitals, bridges and roads and disrupting vital services, such as power supplies.
You will have seen media coverage with babies and children being pulled from the wreckage in which many of their families have died.
